Interculture Task 2

 

I come from China. In my country, There are 56 ethnicities and each ethnicity has its own customs and habits, which are manifested in such areas as dress, food, housing, marriage, rituals, funerals, and burials. Our country respects the customs and habits of minority nationalities, and minority nationalities enjoy the right to maintain or reform their own customs and habits.

 

Therefore we not only shared a common culture but also enjoyed the various cultural heritage and crafts within the 56 nations in China.  All in all, we are a diversity in a united nation.

 

Our country's history, language, food habits, and holiday celebrations have become ingrained in my life. I am deeply proud of my country and have a cultural confidence that is something rooted in my blood.

 

With filial piety, courtesy, diligence, and mutual help, our country has developed from a post-war period when nothing was being done, when people were homeless, poor, and freezing, to the second largest economy in the world, where hundreds of millions of rural poor people have been lifted out of poverty. This spirit of self-improvement has always inspired and led me forward, and whenever I have suffered setbacks, the spirit of our nation has always guided me.

 

Since I've been studying abroad, I've moved from a collectivist country to an individualist, which is a good thing to make me more globalized and become a person who not only focuses on the collective consciousness but also cares about and respects individual ideas.
